Managing Director - Distribution

Ian Henderson was appointed as Managing Director - Distribution in April 2011; he has responsibility for the sales performance of all of Aviva’s multi channel distribution and exploring new opportunities to grow Aviva’s capability and business performance.

Ian joined Aviva as Bancassurance Director in April 2010 where he focused on nurturing and enhancing Aviva’s partnership with DBS Bank in Singapore, Hong Kong and other territories.

An industry veteran, Ian has over 24 years of experience in the life assurance industry in the UK and Asia, covering both manufacturing and distribution of products and implementation of multi channel strategies in insurance and banking arenas.

Prior to joining Aviva, Ian spent four years with Citibank, which was split equally between roles as UK Head of Insurance, and an Asia Pacific regional role based in Singapore covering 12 Asian markets.

His experience also includes an 18-year stint with Prudential, where he took on diverse roles within the Prudential group in both life and general insurance in the UK including agency, third party distribution, banking and e-commerce. He was posted to Hong Kong for his last four years with the company, where he took on both regional and local business roles.
