Chief Executive Officer – Singapore

Simon Newman was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Aviva in Singapore in October 2009, responsible for all aspects of the business in the market.

Prior to assuming his current position, he was Aviva Singapore’s Managing Director, tasked with driving Aviva’s business strategy to strengthen and grow its partnership and intermediary business.

Simon has led Aviva’s recent industry leading product innovations. These include Concierge by Aviva, a priority service that offers expedited processes and luxury treatment for the High Net Worth segment, as well as the enhanced My Protector term life product, which enables customers to purchase only specific coverage they require.

He was also instrumental in strengthening Aviva’s partnership with Manulife to make Aviva’s customised Navigator investment platform available to Manulife’s customers in Singapore.

Before joining Aviva, Simon was Director of PruDirect in the UK where he led the transformation of its direct channels and grew its online services for intermediaries. He was also formerly Director at Barclays Bank UK where he garnered extensive experience in retail financial services, in particular integrated channel management, eChannels delivery and online banking development.
