Aviva Singapore Announced Sponsorship of UIM F1 Powerboat World Championship – Singapore Grand Prix 2004
They are back – more than 23 high speed Formula One Powerboats will race at around 220km/h in front of the Esplanade, on Marina Bay for the UIM F1 Powerboat Championships on September 18- 19, 2004.
The high profile event returned to Singapore last year after an absence of 12 years. The thrilling competition was greeted with much excitement from the Singapore spectators. The organizer with strong support from Aviva, the Singapore Tourism Board and Singapore Sports Council, decided to bring the world-class event to even greater heights this year.
Commenting on the sponsorship at a press conference held on 23 July 2004, Chief Marketing Officer Tim Beardsall shared, "We are particularly proud of being a main sponsor for the event as we share many attributes with Powerboat racing such as performance and innovation and the desire to constantly strive to be the best. This year Aviva has continued its support for the event as we truly believe this dynamic and exciting sport has enormous potential here in Singapore and we very much wish to be part of its growth and development to ensure Singaporeans can enjoy one of the world's most breathtaking water sports."
This year's event will be of larger scale, inclusive of water acrobat performance and a ThemeVillage where spectators can enjoy fringe activities, good food and music. This is the single largest sponsorship Aviva (Life) has invested and we are confident the Aviva brand will be positively enhanced through the on site branding and publicity drive.
