The Straits Times published an article about under-insurance in Singapore. The writer shared his experience of a trip gone bad when his luggage was delayed and damaged. Fortunately, he had purchased travel insurance so did not panic as he knew he could obtain reimbursement. An Aviva survey was cited where we found that over half of Singaporeans travelling abroad do so without buying travel insurance on a regular basis. The writer urged travellers not to take a risk by travelling without coverage for the unexpected, as that would be a "penny wise, pound foolish" decision.
